Quick overview
- Shopify shares surged over 7% following an expanded integration with Meta’s Muse AI, positioning the stock toward the $150 mark.
- The partnership enables Muse to facilitate purchases through Shopify’s Shop Pay, enhancing Shopify’s role in the evolving landscape of agentic commerce.
- Shopify’s stock rebound is supported by a strong technical foundation, bouncing off its 50-week SMA, with a potential target of surpassing its previous all-time high of $180.
- The integration with Meta signifies a shift towards agentic commerce, raising questions about the impact of AI agents on traditional e-commerce platforms and Shopify’s future revenue opportunities.
Shopify Stock Rebounds Above $140
Shopify shares jumped more than 7% on Tuesday, pushing SHOP toward the $150 level after the company expanded its integration with Meta’s new Muse AI agent.
The partnership allows Muse to complete purchases across Shopify-powered stores through Shop Pay, giving Shopify a potentially important role as artificial intelligence systems move from recommending products toward completing transactions on behalf of consumers.
SHOP Chart Weekly – Rebounding Off the 50 SMA
The latest rally also has a strong technical foundation. Shopify rebounded sharply from its 50-week SMA, which acted as support, helping the stock regain its upward momentum. If buyers maintain control, the next major target is the previous all-time high above $180, reached in October 2025.
Shopify Positions Itself Behind AI Agents
The key question for investors is whether AI agents will weaken traditional e-commerce platforms or make their infrastructure more valuable.
Shopify is positioning itself as the transaction layer behind these systems. Its merchant tools already allow sellers to use Meta as an AI sales channel, while Shopify Catalog and direct checkout capabilities connect merchants with new consumer interfaces.
The company is also developing its own AI commerce tools, including Sidekick and Agentic Storefronts, expanding Shopify’s role beyond traditional online-store infrastructure.
Agentic Commerce Enters a New Phase
The Shopify-Meta integration reflects a broader shift toward agentic commerce, where software can search for products, compare options and eventually complete purchases with limited human involvement.
Payment companies are also developing infrastructure designed to support autonomous transactions. Mastercard has been working on agentic payment systems, while blockchain networks are exploring machine-to-machine payments and programmable spending.
For Shopify, the opportunity is significant if AI agents become another major route through which consumers discover and purchase products.
$150 Becomes the Next Test
Shopify’s move toward $150 strengthens the recovery after finding support at the 50-week SMA. A sustained breakout could bring the $180 record high back into focus.
However, the stock will ultimately need continued merchant adoption and transaction growth to justify the renewed momentum. The Meta integration provides a new potential catalyst, but investors will be watching whether agentic commerce develops into a meaningful revenue opportunity for Shopify.
