The Rural Incubation, Skilling and Entrepreneurship (RISE) Centre in Guntupalli of Ibrahimpatnam mandal is playing a significant role in identifying the entrepreneurial potential of women and helping them become successful entrepreneurs, said NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha.
The Collector visited the self-help group (SHG) Women Entrepreneurs-Self-Employment Expo held at the centre on Saturday and inspected 27 stalls displaying products manufactured by industrial units established with the support of the centre.
Later, addressing the media, he said that the RISE Centre was emerging as a dedicated rural incubation centre by providing women from self-help groups with training, mentorship, technical assistance and market opportunities. The centre conducts daily training programmes, workshops every Saturday and regular job fairs, he added.
So far, 30 workshops have been conducted, reaching around 5,000 women, many of whom have established successful business units.
The centre helps women transform their skills into employment opportunities, particularly in micro and mini food processing and value-added products. It also facilitates access to bank loans, government schemes and markets, while promoting branding and marketing, the Collector said.
The Collector said women were also being trained in modern technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), along with awareness of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) certification.
