Car dealers and brokers from across the country are set to meet in Nairobi for a digital marketing summit planned for later this year.
The summit, organised by Together As One Credit, will focus on equipping players in the motor vehicle sales sector with digital marketing skills.
Together As One Credit founder and CEO Hezekiah Kariuki said the summit would help entrepreneurs adapt to changes in how businesses market their products and services.
Speaking from the company’s Nairobi headquarters, Kariuki said marketing had shifted from traditional methods to digital platforms and artificial intelligence (AI).
He said entrepreneurs in the motor vehicle sales sector needed to adapt to the changes to remain relevant.
“Entrepreneurs must catch up with these changes to remain relevant in the marketing field,” Kariuki said.
Kariuki said the car sales sector was an important part of the economy, contributing to the national gross domestic product (GDP) and creating business and employment opportunities.
He said there was a need to improve financial and digital marketing literacy among players in the sector.
“Our microfinance institution is a major motor vehicle asset financier, and we must therefore give back to the industry to improve their operations,” Kariuki said.
He said the summit would also lead to the formation of a nationwide network to address operational challenges affecting players in the sector and their engagement with the government.
