The government continues to carry out post-disaster recovery after floods hit the island of Sumatra in November 2025, one of which is through the Creative Economy Cares Program: Infrastructure Rehabilitation and Priority Profiling in Aceh Tamiang Regency on October 14-16, 2026.
“Through the Creative Economy Cares Program, we want to encourage technological innovation that can be utilized to help answer concrete problems faced by the region. This mapping is the first step to obtain a more comprehensive picture of conditions and needs in the field. Thus, the results can be used as a consideration for local governments in identifying handling priorities and exploring solutions according to the needs of each region,” said Dandy Yudha Feryawan as Director of Technological Creativity at the Ministry of Creative Economy.
The government is strengthening the foundations of recovery while facilitating the use of innovation with a domestic tech startup, Niriksagara. This activity is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Creative Economy and various regional government agencies within the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government, including the Tourism, Youth, and Sports Office, which facilitated coordination, and the exchange of technical information involving the Communications and Informatics Office, the Agriculture, Plantation, and Animal Husbandry Office, and related agencies based on the specific characteristics of the location.
“We welcome the mapping activities carried out by the Ministry of Creative Economy together with the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government. The support of regional apparatuses in accordance with their duties and authorities is important to provide information on regional conditions and needs that require attention. We hope that the results of this mapping can be taken into consideration in discussing priority handling and further coordination with stakeholders,” said Muhammad Farij as Acting Head of the Aceh Tamiang Regency Tourism, Youth, and Sports Office.

Muhammad Farij added that this collaboration is expected to be sustainable through discussions of mapping results and follow-up actions tailored to regional needs and the authorities of each party. Collaboration in Aceh Tamiang Regency is a strategic step to strengthen the use of innovation based on real needs, while supporting post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction processes that are more targeted and responsive to regional characteristics towards national transformation.
In the mapping, the team identified a number of strategic points in Aceh Tamiang Regency, including the Tamiang Sport Center, the Amphitheater Building, the Paya Udang rice field area, road access to Pulau Rukui Beach and the Rengas Dam Baths, and the central government area.
The Creative Economy Cares program is part of the Ministry of Creative Economy’s commitment to supporting the Master Plan for Accelerating Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction in Sumatra. Through a data-driven approach, the mapping results are expected to enrich local governments’ databases for assessing infrastructure needs, regional accessibility, and the potential for economic recovery.
The involvement of Niriksagara, a startup, is also part of an effort to encourage the use of innovations from national startups to address development needs, including in post-disaster situations. Furthermore, they have developed artificial intelligence (AI)-based infrastructure and economic activity mapping technology, enabling tangible changes to be demonstrated and felt by the people.
