Target makes store operations app smarter
Target has updated its myDay app, used by more than 350,000 team members, to give store leaders more insight into what’s happening from fulfillment to delivery and a clearer prioritized to-do list for associates.
Leaders can also now customize their view so the information they need most is easy to find, according to a press release.
Target claims the app update is already having a positive impact as it’s helping team members work more efficiently and helping leaders make faster, more confident decisions. Across Target stores, these efforts add up to more than 2 million team member hours saved annually, according to the release.
The app development involved store teams, product management, user experience research and design as well as engineering and data sciences teams.
After gathering input from more than 50 store leaders and team members, the team identified some of the biggest opportunities to make their jobs easier.
The system uses real-time signals like inventory, incoming trailers, team availability, item location and forecasted sales to prioritize work based on urgency and value. It also helps the team work more efficiently by grouping similar tasks and giving them the fastest route to complete their to-do list.
The app now offers a myDay Leader View, a personalized home screen that puts important store updates and resources in one place.
