On the afternoon of August 14, 2026, the National Productivity and Quality Forum 2026, themed “Breaking through productivity based on science , technology, innovation and digital transformation to propel Vietnam rapidly towards the Vision 2045,” took place in Ho Chi Minh City.
The forum was chaired by the Ministry of Science and Technology , in collaboration with the Central Policy and Strategy Committee and the Asian Productivity Organization (APO).
Productivity must become the central task.
Speaking at the Forum, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung said that the event is taking place in the context of the whole country implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party and the 5-year socio -economic development plan for the period 2026-2030, aiming for sustainable double-digit growth and making Vietnam a high-income developed country by 2045.
After 40 years of reform, Vietnam’s economic potential has made significant progress. However, according to the Deputy Prime Minister , the growth model still relies more on expanding resources than on improving the efficiency of resource utilization.
