Marketers are increasingly having to navigate tight budgets and relentless demands to do more with less, meaning it’s even more important to have a personal toolkit for long-term career growth.
In the next episode of The Lowdown, which takes place on 14 September at 9am, three expert speakers – who are all set to appear at the Festival of Marketing next month – will join forces to help marketers grow their expertise and move away from tactical delivery.
On the panel is Emma Harris, founder and CEO of Glow London. At this year’s Festival of Marketing, Harris will be on a panel with keynote speaker Maz Farrelly and The Marketing Academy founder and CEO Sherilyn Shackell discussing how to drive change within your career. She will also be delivering a masterclass for VIPs.
She is joined by Andrew Garrihy, CMO at OLX and founder of The CMO Coach, who will offer one-to-one coaching sessions at Festival. And Ifeoma Jibunoh, formerly CMO of Cassava Technologies, who will appear on the B2B stage.
Speaking to Festival of Marketing’s ‘Raise The Bar’ theme, The Lowdown session will cover strategies to command respect in the boardroom and align marketing with wider business goals.
It will also provide advice on how to continuously build your core expertise while prioritising self-care and avoiding burnout, and practical advice for navigating the job market, building meaningful professional networks, and future-proofing your career. There will also be a live Q&A with all speakers.

Raise The Bar is the thread that connects all sessions at this year’s event, which takes place in London on 14 October, whether that’s through setting a growth blueprint as Sir John Hegarty will discuss, realising marketing’s potential as Carwow’s marketing lead Ben Carter will unpick, or realising what your CEO needs from you, as CEOs from AO, Caffè Nero and PizzaExpress will explore.
Other notable sessions include a closing headliner from entrepreneur and TV personality Spencer Matthews and Professor Damian Hughes, host of the High Performance Podcast, as well as speakers from Canva, Lloyds, Bloom & Wild and Santander, with more to be announced soon.
