Texas (KWTX) – Young entrepreneurs had a chance to put their products on display at Oscar’s Market in Killeen
The second annual market featured 21 booths, with youth ages 10 to 18 selling items they made, including baked goods, jewelry, handmade pouches and crocheted goods. The event is a feeder event for Fort Hood Area Lemonade Day.
Organizer Sarah Olaleye said the market gives kids a chance to practice running a business.
“Supporting them means investing into the next generation of adults, next generation of entrepreneurs, CEOs, and also giving them life lessons just regarding <a href="https://bitcomme.com/cbre-group-inc-reports-financial-results-for-q3-2026/” title=”CBRE Group, Inc. Reports Financial Results for Q3 2026″>financial literacy and how to market themselves and their business,” said Sarah Olaleye, Lemonade Day Fort Hood Area city director.
Olaleye said her favorite part of setting up the event is executing it and seeing vendors set up their booths.
“They work so hard to get all their stuff prepared,” Olaleye said.
Organizers sought more turnout, customers and foot traffic this year, with more booths and goods than last year, Olaleye said.
The kids were excited after the event was rescheduled because of weather a couple weeks ago, Olaleye said. She said vendors were anxious to set up their booths and ready for customers.
VIP judges scored booths based on presentation, confidence and other criteria, Olaleye said. The market was held until 2 p.m.
