Crisis Response Ministry (CRM) in Tyler publicly announced Ozzie Carrasco as the new chief development officer on June 30.
Carrasco joined the leadership team of the faith-based nonprofit based in Tyler that helps serve victims of crime, disaster survivors, first responders, military families and communities impacted by crises throughout the state by providing resources and spiritual support.
Since June 30 in his new role, Carrasco has led strategic growth, resource development, governmental engagement and partnership initiatives while working alongside CRM leadership to expand statewide programs and strengthen relationships across the public, private, nonprofit and faith-based sectors.
“As CRM continues to grow and expand its impact, we are excited to welcome Ozzie to our leadership team,” said Jim McKee, co-founder and CEO of Crisis Response Ministry. “His experience in public safety, emergency management, community engagement and organizational leadership aligns perfectly with our mission.”
Carrasco’s professional background includes law enforcement, chaplaincy, victim services, disaster response, governmental affairs and executive nonprofit leadership. Throughout his career, he has had leadership roles during major disasters, critical incidents and recovery efforts across Texas, helping coordinate partnerships between government agencies, faith-based organizations, nonprofits and community stakeholders to strengthen support systems for those impacted by a crisis.
McKee said as chief development officer, Carrasco plays a key role in helping CRM expand its reach, deepen partnerships and advance its mission of bringing hope, healing and practical support to those impacted by crisis.
“Ozzie has a unique ability to build meaningful partnerships and bring people together around a common purpose,” McKee said. “We believe his leadership will help strengthen CRM’s ability to serve communities in crisis and support those who dedicate their lives to helping others.”
At the national level, Carrasco served as an advisor to the White House Office of Faith and Opportunity Initiatives and supported engagement efforts through the White House Office of Public Liaison’s Hispanic Outreach Initiative. He has also served in leadership roles with Crime Stoppers of El Paso and Youth For Christ El Paso, helping advance public safety, youth development and community engagement initiatives.

Community leaders, ministry partners, first responders, elected officials and CRM volunteers meet Carrasco during a meet and greet reception on June 30 at CRM’s headquarters where they had the opportunity to learn more about the organization’s growing impact, connect with ministry leadership and welcome Carrasco.
