Anja Lambrecht, Professor of Marketing and Chair of the Marketing Faculty, has been awarded the Sir John Ritblat Chair.
-
Olenka Kacperczyk, Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship and Chair of the Strategy and Entrepreneurship Faculty, has been awarded the Sussex Place Ventures Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship.
The three appointments underline the importance of endowed chairs in supporting academic excellence at London Business School and strengthening the School’s ability to recognise and retain outstanding faculty.
The Sir John Ritblat Chair, funded by the Sir John Ritblat Foundation, was established with a preference to support a senior faculty member who has been involved with the Masters in Management programme.
Sergei Guriev, Dean of London Business School, said: “Our faculty is at the heart of London Business School’s academic excellence and global impact. I am delighted to recognise Victor, Anja and Olenka through these endowed chairs. Each is an outstanding scholar whose work contributes significantly to their field and to our School. I am also deeply grateful to our donors, whose generosity and support of the Forever Forward campaign enables us to invest in exceptional faculty and strengthen the School for the future.”
Gillian Ku, Deputy Dean (Faculty), said: “Victor, Anja and Olenka exemplify the quality, ambition and intellectual leadership of our faculty. These appointments recognise the contribution each has already made to London Business School and provide further support for their academic leadership. I am delighted to see their achievements recognised in this way.”
Victor DeMiguel said: “I am honoured to be appointed to the Anjuli and Raj Rao Chair in Artificial Intelligence and Business Transformation, and deeply grateful to Anjuli and Raj for their generosity and vision. My research has long asked what data-driven methods can do in financial markets; with AI, that means separating genuine insight from false confidence and understanding what happens when everyone relies on similar models. The Chair will allow me to pursue these questions with colleagues across LBS, and to help our students and alumni use AI wisely.”
Anja Lambrecht said: “I am delighted and honoured to be appointed to the Sir John Ritblat Chair. I am particularly grateful for the support behind the Chair and the opportunity it provides to continue contributing to research, teaching and the student experience at London Business School.”
Olenka Kacperczyk said: “It is a great honour to be awarded the Sussex Place Ventures Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship and innovation are powerful forces for change, and I am excited to continue developing research and teaching in this area at London Business School. I am very grateful for the support that makes this work possible.”
