Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – Continuing our team coverage of the cyberattack that’s left Springfield Public Schools closed now for multiple days, the school committee held a meeting about <a href="https://bitcomme.com/parent-of-springfield-schools-students-feeling-left-in-the-dark-over-cybersecurity-incident/” title=”Parent of Springfield schools students feeling left in the dark over cybersecurity incident”>cybersecurity in the district, and Western Mass News is in Springfield with the latest on what school leaders are discussed
The school committee is currently in this emergency special meeting, entering a private room. According to the agenda, this emergency meeting will discuss the cybersecurity devices that the district has, and the strategies for a response to such cyber incidents, and a breach of important information. As well as what the classroom will look like once students’ return next week, with a reported restriction of classroom technology, at least in the short term.
This meeting is also closed to the public; they say that it’s best at this time to not have discussions online or streaming that might compromise the plan going forward.
It was announced by the Springfield Public Schools on Wednesday afternoon that students won’t return this week, following that cyberattack that has closed Springfield Public Schools. Teachers will have a professional development day on Friday so teachers can organize without their usual technology available.
As we already mentioned, the attack has left nurses with a lack of access to the correct medications which students can take or any allergies they may have.
