Skyfire, an identity and payments infrastructure provider for AI agents, has expanded its partnership withForter, a trust intelligence platform for digital commerce, to help merchants approve legitimate agent-driven purchases while limiting fraud risk. The integration incorporates Skyfire’s Know Your Agent (KYA) tokens into Forter’s fraud decisioning, as demand for agentic commerce continues to grow.
Under the integration, Forter uses Skyfire’s KYA protocol data within its Fraud Management for Agentic Commerce product, providing additional intelligence to assess purchases made by AI agents. The companies said the volume of agentic orders flowing through Forter’s network has more than quadrupled since August.
The partnership aims to address a growing challenge for online retailers. Traditional bot management systems are designed to identify and block automated activity, but legitimate AI agents shopping on behalf of consumers can trigger the same signals. This can lead merchants to reject genuine purchases, while fraudsters may attempt to disguise malicious activity as trusted agent traffic.
Skyfire provides identity and payment infrastructure that enables AI agents to transact on their own. Its open KYA protocol supports verified identity for web access and account creation, tokenised credit cards, real-time micropayments and programmatic checkout across APIs, websites and marketplaces. The company is backed by investors including Evolution, DCVC, a16z CSX, Coinbase Ventures, Neuberger Berman and Brevan Howard Digital.
Forter provides trust intelligence and payments infrastructure for digital commerce, using AI and a global identity network to make real-time decisions across sign-up, checkout and returns. Its customers include Nordstrom, Instacart and Priceline, alongside almost one million businesses using its platform.
Jomashop general manager Osher Karnowsky said, “Our customers are starting to shop through agents, and we didn’t want to be the reason a legitimate purchase was declined. With Skyfire and Forter working together, we can better understand who the agent is, who sent it, and whether to trust the transaction. That clarity gives us confidence to support agentic buyers without introducing additional risk to the business.”
Forter chief technology and product officer Eran Vanounou added, “Agentic commerce fails if retailers can’t tell the difference between an authorised buyer and a script trying to look like one. Leveraging Forter and Skyfire lets businesses confidently validate both the identity of the AI agent and the trustworthiness of the underlying consumer. We are empowering digital commerce leaders to welcome AI-driven purchases while protecting their bottom line from fraud.”
Skyfire co-founder and head of product Craig DeWitt also commented, “AI agents represent an entirely new channel for commerce, but today’s fraud and security systems weren’t built to recognise them. By integrating Skyfire’s Know Your Agent (KYA) identity directly into Forter’s fraud decisioning, we’re giving merchants the ability to distinguish trusted, authorised agents from malicious bots. This is a critical step toward making agentic commerce as secure, seamless, and scalable as traditional online shopping.”
