Shin Sung ENG won the Prime Minister’s Award at the National Productivity Conference in recognition of its artificial intelligence (AI)-based smart factory construction and eco-friendly management performance.
Shin Sung ENG announced on the 30th that it received the Prime Minister’s commendation at the “2026 Korea Productivity and Sustainable Management Innovation Awards” held at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul on the 29th.
The event was hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Productivity Headquarters, and was held by integrating the 50th National Productivity Competition and the 21st Sustainable Management Merit Awards.
Shinseong ENG was highly praised for converting the existing manpower-centered manufacturing process to a data-based intelligent production system.
Using Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, facilities and process data are collected and AI analysis technology is applied to detect abnormalities in advance. Digital twins and cooperative robots were introduced to increase production efficiency and quality control.
As a result, production per hour increased by 28.8%, and the process defect rate decreased by 89.7%. Since the introduction of smart factories, exports have also increased by 71%. Shinseong ENG Yongin Plant was previously selected as a K-Smart Lighthouse Plant in 2021.
It has also achieved results in the field of eco-friendly management. Shinseong ENG is installing solar power facilities at its workplaces to cover 48% of its electricity used with renewable energy, reducing carbon emissions by about 380 tons per year.
Social contribution and talent training activities are also continuing. In addition to sharing the community and donating solar modules, the operation of workplace daycare centers, and employee donation campaigns are being promoted. It is also striving to cultivate master’s-level professionals and secure patents through industry-academia cooperation.
“This award is the fruit of manufacturing innovation that all executives and employees have achieved together,” a Shinseong ENG official said. “We will further upgrade our AI-based smart factory capabilities to increase global competitiveness in clean rooms and eco-friendly energy.”
