Ore. (KPTV) – A 65-year-old woman is facing charges after she embezzled more than a million dollars from a Newberg company, according to the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office
The sheriff’s office said Lauri Lynn O’Connor was arrested on Thursday and booked into the Yamhill County jail for 17 counts of first-degree aggravated theft and falsifying business records.
The investigation began in late 2025 when Milroy Golf Systems, a golf course construction and irrigation company based in Newberg, hired a forensic accounting firm to investigate suspicious transactions and bookkeeping discrepancies.
According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation found O’Connor, who was the bookkeeper for Milroy, had embezzled more than $1.1 million between 2018-2025. O’Connor is accused of creating false invoices, falsifying QuickBooks entries, making unauthorized employee draws, and forging company checks before depositing them into her personal account.
O’Connor was fired from the company in Oct. 2025.
According to the sheriff’s office, O’Connor operated under the business name LLO Bookkeeping & Payroll Inc.
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who previously worked with or employed her and believe they may have been victimized to contact Detective Sergeant Jacob Herr at herrj@yamhillcounty.gov or non-emergency dispatch at 503-434-6500.
