Self Storage Manager Inc. (SSM), a provider of management software for the self-storage industry, released a new tool called SAMARA (self-storage AI management and reporting assistant). The new AI agent, embedded in SSM’s cloud platform, offers operators an intuitive way to access and act on their facility data, according to a press release.
Through natural language text or voice, users can ask SAMARA questions about their self-storage business and get answers across individual sites, regions or an entire portfolio. Available information includes occupancy trends, a comparison of site performance or a delinquency review.
SAMARA also generates key performance indicators, trends, comparisons and visualizations across business metrics on demand, adding a conversational layer to business intelligence, the release stated. Site managers, regional operators and corporate teams for multi-facility portfolios can each query the areas for which they’re responsible, in their own words, without navigating to the right report.
“AI has changed how operators expect to interact with their technology,” said Kat Shenoy, CEO and chairman. “The information our customers need is already in the SSM platform. SAMARA makes it easier to get to. Operators shouldn’t need to know which report to run or where a specific number lives. They should be able to ask a question in their own words and get the answer.”
SAMARA is part of SSM’s ongoing investment in AI, business intelligence and advanced analytics. The goal is to make it easier for operators to work directly with their data, per the release.
“For more than 24 years, we’ve built technology around how self-storage operators actually run their businesses,” said Steve Smith, director of product and account management. “SAMARA is the next step in making that technology more intelligent and more intuitive, particularly as our customers manage larger and more complex portfolios.”
Blue Bell, Pennsylvania-based SSM produces property-management software that offers customer relationship management, call-tracker modules, online reservations and rentals, and other features.
