Salesforce’s Slack Gets a Claude Upgrade

SalesforceCRMusers are getting a deeper Anthropic integration as Claude Tag launches inside Slack, letting the AI assistant work across channels and take action when prompted.
Anthropic said Claude Tag is available in beta starting today for Claude Enterprise and Claude Team subscribers. The feature lets Claude appear as a user in Slack, interact with approved employees and learn from permitted channels and data sources when access is granted.
The bigger shift is autonomy. Claude Tag can accept tasks, schedule its own follow-up work and continue working for up to days at a time. Anthropic said examples include analyzing product metrics, tracking support tickets and identifying software bugs. The feature runs on Opus 4.8 and replaces the earlier Claude in Slack app launched last October.
the update strengthens Slack’s role as a workplace AI hub rather than just a messaging tool. For investors, the takeaway is that enterprise AI is moving from chat windows into actual workflows.
