Salesforce is acquiring Israeli AI analytics startup Loops in a deal estimated at $30 million, with plans to integrate the technology into its Tableau data analytics platform. The acquisition advances Salesforce’s agentic analytics strategy, using AI agents to monitor business performance, explain metric changes and recommend actions with less manual effort. Separately, Bank of America analyst Tal Liani upgraded Salesforce stock to Buy from Underperform with a $285 price target, driving shares up more than 3%. Loops, founded in 2020 by CEO Tom Laufer and CTO Ido Adiv, raised $14 million in seed funding and developed causal analysis tools plus an AI agent called Scout. The transaction is expected to close in early November of Salesforce’s fiscal 2027 and extends a series of Israeli acquisitions including Own, Zoomin and Doti.
Key Elements
Salesforce (CRM) shares climbed more than 3% in Monday trading after the software giant said it would acquire Loops, an Israeli startup whose AI technology explains why business metrics shift and recommends what companies should do about it. The transaction, valued at roughly $30 million, is the latest in a string of Salesforce purchases aimed at making its Tableau analytics platform more autonomous.
The deal arrives alongside a double upgrade from Bank of America, where analyst Tal Liani lifted the stock to Buy from Underperform and raised the price target to $285 from $160, implying roughly 20% upside from Friday’s close. The analyst argued that artificial intelligence should not disrupt but rather “deepen dependence” on the software name, citing conversations with CIOs suggesting large enterprises are unlikely to abandon platforms that house their business logic, data, workflows and compliance frameworks.
Salesforce said it signed a definitive agreement to acquire Loops, which uses machine learning and causal analysis to monitor performance, explain changes in key metrics and identify opportunities for improvement. The company plans to fold Loops’ technology and its specialized team into Tableau, advancing what Salesforce calls its agentic analytics strategy: AI agents that continuously track business results and surface explanations and next steps, reducing the need for people to manually investigate data.
“Tableau’s mission has been helping people see, understand and act on data,” said Mark Recher, executive vice president and general manager of Tableau, in the press release. “Loops accelerates this mission, using powerful agentic AI to uncover the drivers behind business performance and surface where teams and agents can take action in real time.”
Founded in 2020 by CEO Tom Laufer and CTO Ido Adiv, Loops operates in Tel Aviv and the United States. Laufer previously led growth and analytics for Google across the EMEA region, while Adiv is an entrepreneur and software engineer who led R&D teams, including within the IDF’s technology and intelligence units. The startup raised $14 million in a 2022 seed round led by Scale Venture Partners, with participation from Cardumen Capital and a group of product and growth executives from companies including HubSpot, Pinterest, Airtable and Discord.
The company’s original pitch centered on a familiar frustration: corporate dashboards show managers what is happening without explaining why. Loops built a platform that connects to company data sources and uses causal analysis to identify factors affecting revenue, conversions, customer retention and user engagement. Last year it expanded into AI agents with Scout, a capability that monitors key performance indicators, flags trends and anomalies, investigates root causes and generates summaries. The technology can be triggered through Slack and email, delivering insights without requiring users to log into an analytics platform.
Laufer framed the acquisition as a scaling opportunity. “We built Loops around a simple idea: analytics should help businesses understand what drives their results and decide what to do next,” he said. “Salesforce and Tableau share our vision for making actionable analytics accessible for every organization. Together, we’ll have the opportunity to bring what we’ve built to customers at an entirely new scale.”
The deal is expected to close in early November of Salesforce’s fiscal 2027, subject to customary closing conditions. Neither company disclosed the price.
Salesforce’s Israel Shopping Spree
The Loops acquisition extends a pattern of Salesforce dealmaking in Israel. In 2024, the company acquired data protection firm Own for approximately $1.9 billion and bought the remaining shares of Zoomin for roughly $344 million in cash after previously holding a stake of less than 10%. In 2025, Salesforce purchased Doti, an AI-based enterprise search startup, in a deal valued at about $100 million.
| Salesforce’s Recent Israeli Acquisitions | Estimated Deal Value |
|---|---|
| Own (2024) | $1.9 billion |
| Zoomin (2024) | $344 million |
| Doti (2025) | $100 million |
| Loops (2026) | $30 million |
Note: Figures are estimates reported at the time of each transaction; companies did not disclose all deal values.
Agentforce Momentum
The Loops purchase fits into Salesforce’s broader AI push led by Agentforce, its platform for AI agents that execute tasks with limited human input. In the second quarter of fiscal 2027, Agentforce and Data 360 generated nearly $3.9 billion in annual recurring revenue, up more than 210% year over year. Agentforce alone accounted for over $1.5 billion in ARR, a rise of more than 240% from a year earlier.
Wall Street analysts remain broadly constructive on the stock. CRM carries a Strong Buy consensus rating based on 30 Buys and 10 Holds over the past three months, with an average price target of $277.47 implying more than 18% upside from current levels.
Shares have gained nearly 10% this year and around 6% over the past 12 months, with Monday’s advance adding to that momentum as investors digested both the acquisition and the BofA upgrade.
