Rankings roll in for Quinlan
U.S. News & World Report continues to recognize the Quinlan School of Business as best in Chicago and among the top in the nation.
In the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings, the Quinlan School of Business continued to expand its national rankings and position as best in Chicago.
“The rankings help validate our work to provide a rigorous business education grounded in ethical leadership and experiential learning in Chicago and around the world,” says Dean Michael Behnam. “You can feel the upward momentum from our Water Tower Campus classrooms and purpose-driven faculty research to the 41,000 Quinlan alumni helping shape how business is done.”
Top business programs
In the 2027 rankings, Quinlan’s undergraduate business program continues to be top in Chicago, a spot it has held for 13 consecutive years. Nationally, the program is #83 and in the top 16% of ranked undergraduate business schools.

What distinguishes a Quinlan education
These rankings reflect the intentional way that Quinlan’s undergraduate programs have been built around business ethics and Chicago, creating a transformative education that has earned a strong national reputation.
“Our focus on business ethics speaks to the fundamental values of this school and the University and our shared Jesuit heritage,” says Dean Behnam.

Quinlan also is deeply embedded in its hometown of Chicago. Faculty partner with local organizations of all sizes to provide hands-on, experiential learning opportunities in the classroom. They also create connections for the local business community through signature Quinlan events like Leading for Good and Capacity Building for Capacity Builders.

Released on September 22, 2026, the U.S. News 2027 Best College rankings for undergraduate business programs are based on peer surveys of deans and senior business faculty around the country. Graduate program rankings are released annually in the spring.
