EarliTec Diagnostics and Area 23
The EarliShow
For parents, nothing about the prospect of diagnosing their young child with autism feels joyful. This delightful tool helps ease the struggle. EarliPoint is an FDA-cleared diagnostic device that uses advanced eye-tracking technology to help detect early signs of autism in children as young as 16 months. But
it requires sustaining a toddler’s attention for 15 uninterrupted minutes — something especially difficult for children on the spectrum. This often results in incomplete datasets, disrupted sessions and the need for repeat evaluations.
Real-world diagnostic sessions reveal consistent, measurable differences in gaze behavior — and, critically, which types of visual stimuli sustained attention long enough to produce clinically usable data. From this, the team identified four engagement-driving traits: multicharacter interaction, rich nonverbal social cues, layered and dynamic environments and diverse focal points. These traits became the foundation of a new design framework — treating attention not as a variable to manage, but as one that could be intentionally engineered.
So the team built a custom AI model trained on this dataset to recognize and score these traits at scale, and analyzed over 40 hours of content from Aardman Animations, the Oscar-winning studio behind Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep. It evaluated scenes frame-by-frame for their likelihood of sustaining attention and eliciting diagnostically meaningful gaze patterns.
The EarliShow is now integrated across all EarliPoint devices, and clinicians report a measurable shift in session quality. Parents are less nervous. Toddlers are more cooperative, stay engaged longer and are significantly more likely to complete the full evaluation window required for clinically meaningful data capture.
Instead of managing resistance or distress, clinicians could focus on interpretation and communication. By improving the quality of the shared experience, the tool strengthened trust at the “last mile” of care — something traditional media cannot influence.
Silver
The Cancer Support Community and Klick Health
867-5309
The Cancer Support Community and Gilda’s Club provide free emotional support, resources and guidance to anyone affected by cancer. Yet many people still don’t know who to call. This campaign takes Silver here for influencing the moment before care, when people decide who to turn to for support. Rather than entering a clinical conversation without direction, people could call CSC-867-5309 and access guidance, resources and support before or alongside medical care. Coverage made more than 2 billion impressions and increased helpline calls by 216%.
