Oman Airports Win Nine Global ASQ Awards at ACI Summit 2026
Oman’s two main air hubs—Muscat International Airport and Salalah Airport—have together taken home nine international honours from the Airport Service Quality(ASQ) Customer Experience Awards, organised by Airports Council International (ACI) at its 2026 Summit held in Istanbul, Turkiye. These accolades underscore the airports’ strong passenger service performance and acknowledge the commitment of Oman Airports’ workforce and partners in ensuring smooth and pleasant journeys for travellers.
In the category covering airports with annual traffic of five million or more passengers across Asia Pacific and the Middle East, Muscat International Airport claimed four distinctions: Most Enjoyable Airport, Cleanest Airport, Airport with the Most Dedicated Staff, and Best Departure Airport. Meanwhile, Salalah Airport, competing in the segment for facilities serving fewer than five million passengers, earned five awards: Most Enjoyable Airport, Cleanest Airport, Easiest Journey Through Airport, Airport with the Most Dedicated Staff, and Best Departure Airport.
Saud bin Nasser Al Hubaishi, Acting CEO of Oman Airports, stated that the international recognition reflects passenger trust in the services delivered at both airports and bolsters Oman’s standing in aviation service quality and traveller satisfaction. He added that the awards further highlight the airports’ contribution to tourism and travel growth, as well as to stronger domestic and global air links. Al Hubaishi singled out the Airport with the Most Dedicated Staff honour as especially meaningful, noting that it directly acknowledges the everyday dedication of Oman Airports employees, partners, and all those working across the airport ecosystem. He attributed the achievement to strong collaboration and steady coordination among the various teams involved in operations, passenger care, and customer touchpoints.
