NY, Cali retailers sue over latest tariffs
Two small retailers, one in New York and one in California, have sued the Trump administration over the latest tariff announcements.
The plaintiffs are Burlap and Barrel, a spice retailer in New York, and California watch seller Collective Horology, according to a New York Times report.
The suite was filed in a federal trade court and claims the Trump administration is misusing Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974.
On July 24 the Trump administration set new tariffs, averaging about 10% to 12.5%, on over 80 countries.
