New Update
Geospatial technology startup NeoGeoInfo Technologies has raised $20 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Neev Fund II and Aavishkaar Capital.
Neev Fund II is managed by SBI Ventures, a wholly owned subsidiary of State Bank of India (SBI). The fund was launched in 2021 and invests in businesses operating in areas including clean energy, resource efficiency and the circular economy.
NeoGeo said it will use the new capital to expand its technology platforms and product portfolio, invest in research and development and strengthen its technical capabilities.
The Gurugram-based startup is also looking to expand internationally and strengthen its team to support its project pipeline. It already has a presence in West Asia and is planning further expansion into Europe and the US.
NeoGeo provides geospatial intelligence solutions to governments and businesses in areas including urban governance, infrastructure, utilities, natural resource management and disaster management.
The company works across the geospatial technology chain, using tools including satellite imagery, LiDAR and drones to gather and process spatial information. It also applies AI and machine learning to analyse geospatial data and develop industry-specific software platforms.
“The true value of geospatial technology lies not in data collection, but in transforming data into actionable intelligence,” said Sreeramam GV, NeoGeo’s founder and CEO.
NeoGeo has developed four main platforms: OptiFleet for fleet management and analytics, GeoBalance for site suitability and natural resource management, UrbanVista for mapping and public services, and InfraSync for infrastructure asset management.
Its technology is used in areas including infrastructure planning and monitoring, urban management, natural resource assessment and disaster resilience.
India has sought to increase private-sector participation in the geospatial industry through the National Geospatial Policy 2022, which liberalised access to geospatial data and encouraged businesses to develop new applications and services.
NeoGeo said it has carried out more than 200 projects and mapped more than 500,000 sq km.
The company is also involved in India’s network of continuously operating reference stations, or CORS, which are used to provide high-precision positioning data.
NeoGeo said it has worked with Trimble and the Survey of India to establish a network of more than 552 CORS stations across 17 states. It also maintains more than 1,200 CORS stations.
