JKMAX is recalling nearly 200,000 heated blankets and heating pads sold on <a href="https://bitcomme.com/why-amazon-and-walmart-chatbots-are-facing-a-us-senate-push/” title=”Why Amazon and Walmart chatbots are facing a US Senate push”>Amazon after reports of overheating, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The agency on Thursday announced that the internal wire heating elements can overheat, creating fire and burn hazards.
JKMAX has received 577 reports of overheating involving the blankets and pads, including 53 burn injuries, the CPSC said, adding that consumers should stop using the recalled products immediately and contact JKMAX for a full refund.
The recall covers all JKMAX heating pads and heated blankets, including the following models:
- JKMAX-002
- JKMAX-7284B
- JKMAX-6284B
- JKMAX-10090B
- JKMAX-8490B
The CPSC recall number is 26-778.
The products were sold in blue, gray, brown, and red, and came in multiple sizes.
The blankets and pads are made of machine-washable polyester and have a detachable white remote. The model number appears on the back of the remote and on a white label on the packaging with the JKMAX brand name.
They were sold on Amazon from September 2022 through July 2026 in one- and two-pack configurations.
The recalled products were imported by Jiande Pengshuai Trading Co. Ltd. of China.
