Murray Bridge has a new purpose-built Australia Post delivery centre, designed to handle the region’s growing demand for parcels.
The 1,143-square-metre facility is about twice the size of the former delivery centre and can process up to 2,600 parcels a day.
It is fully electric and powered by rooftop solar and battery storage, with Australia Post saying the new centre will improve efficiency, safety and delivery times.

Australia Post Executive General Manager of Network Operations Shane Plant said the investment would help the network keep pace with the growth in online shopping.
“Online spend in South Australia rose 14% to $5.6 billion last year, according to our latest Annual eCommerce Report,” Shane Plant said.
“As more people shop online, particularly in regional areas, we’re continuing to invest in our regional network to keep pace with demand and changing customer needs, to deliver a better, more reliable service for our customers into the future.”
The Murray Bridge facility is the second of 4 new regional delivery centres being opened across South Australia, with new sites also planned for Kadina, Tanunda and Port Pirie.
The investment is part of a broader Australia Post upgrade of its South Australian network, including a $500 million dollar parcel super hub under development in Adelaide that is expected to open in 2028.
Customers can continue to access postal services at the Murray Bridge Post Office and Murray Bridge South LPO, with free Parcel Lockers also available at the Murray Bridge Post Office.
