Mark Cuban Foundation to host free AI bootcamp for Columbus high school students (Provided by Bishop Wash; Genuine Article)
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) —High school students in Columbus will have a chance to dive into the world of artificial intelligence this fall through a bootcamp hosted by the Mark Cuban Foundation and NCUS TEC.
The Artificial Intelligence Bootcamp is a free program open to students in grades nine through 12.
NCUS TEC will work with the Academy for Urban Scholars to provide the AI Bootcamp to its students.
The program will be held on the following Saturdays this fall:
- October 31
- November 7
- November 14
Organizers say the bootcamp is designed to give underserved students hands-on experience with cutting-edge AI tools, including generative AI, while exploring real-world applications in areas such as health care, arts, business, computer science, sports science and career readiness.
“As AI continues to become an undeniable force in all of our lives, it’s crucial that we open the door to this knowledge, especially to young people who want to explore it,” founder Mark Cuban said.
The AI Bootcamp will provide meals, transportation assistance and technology for the students at no-cost.
“While technology expands and becomes more advanced, it becomes more critical that we ensure our students are prepared when they apply for schools or jobs in the future. Thanks to our work with NCUS TEC, the bootcamp will offer an avenue to explore this fascinating field of technology to any student, no matter their means.”
Students will apply what they’ve learned and complete a final project with guidance from industry mentors.
