Manhattan Associates has launched Manhattan Marketplace, a shared ecosystem for customers and partners using its Active solutions.

Built within Manhattan’s ActivePlatform, the marketplace is designed to let users discover and deploy intelligent agents, extensions and other software additions linked to supply chain and commerce operations.

Manhattan says all agents and extensions published through the marketplace will run natively on ActivePlatform, using the same underlying framework and controls as its core software.

The launch expands Manhattan’s approach to third-party development around its existing products. It gives partners a central place to build and distribute tools that connect with Manhattan’s software environment, while giving customers a single location to find additions aimed at specific sectors, workflows and regional needs.

A separate component, Agent Foundry, is designed to help partners create these tools and connect them directly into the wider ecosystem. Manhattan says this should reduce the need for more complex integration projects when customers want to add specialist functions to existing systems.

    Partner ecosystem

The launch reflects a broader push by software suppliers to build marketplaces around artificial intelligence tools and industry-specific applications. In supply chain and commerce technology, companies are trying to make it easier for customers to adopt new software modules without lengthy development work or bespoke integration.

For Manhattan, the marketplace also widens the range of applications available around its products without requiring it to build every tool itself. Partners can develop software aimed at narrow operational problems or local market requirements, while customers can choose additions that fit their own business processes.

Manhattan says the marketplace was built around a common operational base shared by the company, its partners and its customers. It describes that foundation as open and intended to support interoperability across the ecosystem.

One immediate aim is to bring partner-built applications into a more standardised environment. Rather than relying on separate or heavily customised connections, the marketplace model is intended to let software additions work within a shared structure.

“Innovation is no longer a solo effort; it is about bringing the collective brilliance of our entire community into one shared, secure environment,” said Sanjeev Siotia, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, Manhattan Associates.

“Manhattan Marketplace is the engine for that collaboration – enabling our partners and customers to build on the same foundation and benefit from each other’s best ideas. It is designed to help our ecosystem accelerate speed-to-value while tapping into a broader, shared community of innovation,” said Siotia.

    Customer access

Partners are already developing software for the marketplace, and customer access is due in the coming quarters, with further content and functionality expected to be added over time.

Manhattan has framed the launch as part of its wider artificial intelligence strategy for supply chain commerce software. By placing partner and customer development on the same platform as its own products, it is seeking to create a more unified software environment around automation and decision-making tools.

The announcement also highlights the growing commercial role of software marketplaces in business technology. For vendors, they can help expand product reach and partner participation. For customers, they can offer a faster route to adding specialised functions without replacing larger operational systems.

Veridian, one of the partners cited by Manhattan, says the marketplace could create opportunities to provide more tailored software for customers. It linked that to demand for quicker ways to extend operational environments.

“We’re excited about the flexibility and innovation potential that Manhattan’s AI Agents, Agent Foundry, and Marketplace ecosystem bring to the market. As customers continue looking for faster ways to enhance and extend their operational environments, we see significant opportunity to leverage the Marketplace to deliver practical, customer-specific solutions that accelerate execution and create measurable business value,” said Sandeep Patel, Co-Founder, Veridian.
