LG Uplus is partnering with global subscription platform company Bango to sequentially introduce overseas AI services to its subscription platform “Udok.” Starting with a video editing AI next month, the South Korean telecom operator plans to expand its product lineup to include generative, productivity, and creative AI offerings. Using Bango’s subscription integration platform “Digital Vending Machine” (DVM), the company aims to streamline processes from new service contracts to system integration and product launches, while also developing bundled offerings tailored to customer demand. The goal is to improve access to overseas AI services that have been relatively unknown in South Korea or difficult to subscribe to individually.

LG Uplus is bringing overseas artificial intelligence (AI) services to South Korean consumers through its subscription platform “Udok.” Starting with a video editing AI next month, the company plans to expand its product lineup to include generative, productivity, and creative AI offerings.
LG Uplus announced on the 5th that it is partnering with global subscription platform company Bango to expand the introduction of overseas AI and content services. The two companies will collaborate on discovering domestic and international services, integrating new subscription products, and planning bundled offerings tailored to customer demand.
Udok is LG Uplus’s subscription platform that allows customers to sign up for and manage multiple subscription products—including AI, over-the-top (OTT) video services, education, and lifestyle offerings—all in one place. The platform currently offers AI services across search, design, video editing, and education, including Google AI Pro, and also operates “Udok Pick AI,” which lets users select and use the AI products they want.
The first result of this collaboration will be a video editing AI service launching next month. The company then plans to broaden its product lineup to include generative AI, productivity AI, and creative AI. Overseas AI services that have not yet gained widespread recognition in South Korea or have been difficult to subscribe to individually will also be added to Udok sequentially. The goal is to reduce the hassle of customers having to visit overseas service websites directly to sign up and pay.
The introduction of new services will leverage Bango’s subscription integration platform, the “Digital Vending Machine” (DVM). Bango is a company that connects digital service providers, telecom operators, and platform companies worldwide, and DVM enables multiple subscription services to be integrated and distributed through a single platform.
LG Uplus plans to use DVM to streamline the processes required from new service contracts to system integration and product launches. The strategy is to accelerate new product releases by reducing the time it takes to add overseas AI services to Udok.
Beyond securing AI services, the two companies will also develop bundled products tailored to specific usage purposes. They plan to expand the scope of offerings to include generative, productivity, and creative AI, as well as global content services specialized in particular areas of interest.
Cho Yong-seong, LG Uplus’s head of partnership business (senior vice president), said, “Customer subscription demand is rapidly expanding beyond content into AI and productivity services. Through this collaboration, we will enable South Korean customers to conveniently use a wide range of global AI services while continuously strengthening Udok’s competitiveness in AI subscriptions.”
This partnership aligns with the trend of South Korean telecom operators positioning AI subscription services as a new growth engine. LG Uplus’s strategy is to expand its AI subscription ecosystem through Udok while reducing the time and cost required to introduce overseas services, thereby securing a competitive edge. The partnership with Bango is expected to serve as a catalyst for broadening the domestic distribution channels for global AI services in South Korea.
