The Korea Artificial Intelligence & Software Industry Association (KOSA) and MegazoneCloud jointly operated an on-site program in Tokyo to support 10 South Korean AI and software companies entering the Japanese market. Now in its third year, the program is part of the Win-Win Growth Cooperation Foundation’s “Large-Small Business Joint Market Entry Support Project,” featuring local buyer matching, market entry seminars, and corporate pitching sessions. Participating companies showcased technologies spanning AI agents, digital twins, smart logistics, and security. On the second day, one-on-one business consultations were held with a systems integration (SI) affiliate of a major Japanese logistics conglomerate. The Korea Artificial Intelligence & Software Industry Association (KOSA) partnered with MegazoneCloud to operate an on-site program in Tokyo supporting 10 South Korean AI and software companies entering the Japanese market. Held from the 10th to the 11th in Tokyo, the event consisted of one-on-one matching with local buyers, market entry seminars, and corporate pitching sessions.
Now in its third year, the program is part of the Win-Win Growth Cooperation Foundation’s “Large-Small Business Joint Market Entry Support Project.” KOSA and MegazoneCloud have consistently operated programs including identifying Japanese purchasing companies, business consultation sessions, market entry seminars, and corporate briefings.
Participating companies included Gunwoo Solution, Dawsontee, SelectStar, 3I, Whatap Labs, Willog, Estsoft, Inswave, Jimission, and Private AI. The technology areas represented by these companies span AI agents, digital twins, IT observability, smart logistics, and security.
On the first day, Shunichiro Suenaga, Chief Business Officer (CBO) of Megazone Japan, presented an analysis of demand structures and market entry opportunities in Japan’s AI and software market. The Japan AI Association followed with an explanation of local AI policies and regulatory compliance guidelines, and a session was arranged for South Korean companies that had previously entered Japan to share their know-how on finding and managing local partners.
On the second day, a pre-matched business consultation session was held with a systems integration (SI) company affiliated with a major Japanese logistics conglomerate. The Japanese firm reportedly operates system integration and digital transformation (DX) businesses across multiple industries including logistics, distribution, and finance.
The companies selected for consultations were chosen based on a list of technology demands submitted in advance by the Japanese side. Participating South Korean companies introduced their solutions and use cases, and discussed the feasibility of applying their technologies to Japanese business operations as well as follow-up collaboration opportunities.
KOSA stated, “We will continue to support South Korean AI and software companies entering the Japanese market by collaborating with local Japanese companies and institutions to identify technology demand, match South Korean companies, and facilitate follow-up business connections.”
Japan is a market where demand for AI-based automation and digital transformation is growing rapidly due to demographic shifts and labor shortages in manufacturing and logistics. The program is seen as particularly meaningful for South Korean AI startups, offering an opportunity to validate their technology and secure local references.
