Kazakhstan Advises Officials Against Showing Luxury Purchases Online

The administration of Kazakhstan’s East Kazakhstan Region has advised civil servants to refrain from showcasing expensive purchases, luxury items and lavish vacations on social media.
Officials were warned that displaying costly purchases without an obvious legale reputation of a civil servant, according to gov.kz
The administration also reminded government employees that using social media to advertise goods or services may be prohibited under legislation governing public service and anti-corruption measures.
Officials were further advised to avoid posts that could be interpreted as using their official position, state symbols or government resources for personal interests.
