Today’s Market Hang panel consists of Gerber Kawasaki Wealth & Investment Management CEO Ross Gerber, Yahoo Finance’s Pras Subramanian, Kelly Intelligence founder Kevin Kelly, and Cleo Capital Managing Director Sarah Kunst.
But what I I think is that there’s going to have to be a whole new level of devices. I thought this two years ago and it still hasn’t happened. that we all need new devices that are going to be more powerful. and that’s I think with their new chips and their new hardware is really what they’re putting because you’re going to have to have AI that will run native on your own desktop or phones because of security. So you know, cyber security is an area that where you’ll see very high valuations of stocks, but also just the demand for the and the need is is massive. So, you know, I would argue that
70 times sales on some of these cyber security, I mean times sales. I mean that is that’s that’s a lot, right? Especially when you’re talking about AI. And I think one of the ways, I just wanted to before I forget, the one of the ways to invest in this market going forward given earnings season and everything else.
On the cyber security side though, I invest a lot in this in startups and the reality is that that most of the problems are not caused by some big rogue state, you know, actor hacking into your mainframe. People just use password as a password. and if you’re watching that, that’s a bad idea, right? So a lot of the cyber security uh sort of problems that cost us a lot of money, I think that the solutions to that aren’t necessarily the crowd strikes of the world, lovely company as though it is. It’s pushing better sort of basic block and tackle, right? Go when you talk to your parents this Thanksgiving, ask them about their 2FA on their their bank logins, right? Ask them what they do when they get those calls that say, it’s your grandson. I’ve been kidnapped. send me your bank info, right? And and those are a huge amount of where the losses come from, of where this clicking on bad links, right? Um those are a huge amount of the losses and we’re not seeing nearly enough sort of consumer facing cyber security to do anything about it.
Well, what do you what do you recommend in that that area? Because I own crowd strike and I I think they’re they’re great but you’re right. They they’re a big company that works with big companies and you know, this is a huge issue cyber security for my firm even. And so we
like I I password protectors like the keepers of the world, um you know, use things like delete me, wipe your address offline. If they don’t have your address
Yeah, but I’m looking at cyber security investment Sarah. what you know, you you do this. What what what do you from a public company perspective, who do you think is best, you know, suited to help for consumer sliding in.
So I think Google and Apple actually are cybersecurity companies. It’s not where they make a lot of their money, but if you just use the baked in Google and Apple, uh cyber security, you know, if you’re using Google authenticator, they have insanely good enterprise grade tools that are free. The problem, right for you and me is that it’s hard to make money on that except very, very indirectly. But it is good for the consumer because 90% of American adults in any given year are faced with some sort of scam or fraud online.
