HoneyBook Launches on ChatGPT as Part of OpenAI’s New Small Business Collection
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 09, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) —
HoneyBook, the client relationship platform for independent businesses, today announced that HoneyBook is available as a plugin in ChatGPT as one of tools selected for OpenAI’s new Small Business Collection. HoneyBook members can connect their accounts and ask ChatGPT questions about their own clients, projects, schedules, contracts and invoices, then have it prepare the work that follows.
For many independent businesses, HoneyBook serves as the system of record for the full client lifecycle, from the first inquiry through proposals, contracts, scheduling, communications and final payment. Connecting that information to ChatGPT gives members a direct way to understand what is happening across the business without the need to manually review multiple records or first explaining their business to the AI.
Once connected, members can ask which invoices are overdue, who is on this week’s schedule, where a specific client stands, or which new leads should be answered first. Because ChatGPT can draw from information across HoneyBook projects, members can also ask broader questions about their own businesses, such as which months typically bring their strongest leads, what similar past projects required, or how recent bookings compare by value. While this was always possible within the HoneyBook app, it’s now even more accessible with natural language ChatGPT prompts.
HoneyBook in ChatGPT also helps prepare the next step. Members can ask it to draft replies to inquiries in their style, create proposals, invoices or contracts from their saved HoneyBook templates and pricing, add contacts, build lead forms, or prepare payment requests. Everything it creates arrives as a draft for the member to review and approve. Nothing is sent, changed or issued without that approval.
“Small business owners are some of the bravest people I know. They build without a back office or a safety net because they want to create something of their own and build a life on their terms,” said Oz Alon, co-founder and CEO of HoneyBook. “AI changes the ceiling on what one person can do, especially when it can work from the reality of that person’s business. Bringing HoneyBook into ChatGPT gives independent business owners access to their own operational memory while keeping their judgment and approval at the center.”
The launch comes as ChatGPT is becoming a bigger part of how entrepreneurs run their companies. An OpenAI analysisfound that at least four million people in the United States used ChatGPT during March 2026 to help plan, start, run or grow a business. OpenAI’s Small Business Collection brings together tools intended for owners who often handle sales, service delivery, marketing, operations and finance themselves.
