wudhomes, a Bengaluru-based home-furnishing startup founded by Vasu Arneja and Aditya Singh, has raised Rs 2.5 crore in a pre-seed funding round led by AJVC, founded by Aviral Bhatnagar.
Seekho co-founders Rohit Choudhary, Keertay Agarwal and Yash Banwani also participated in the round, along with other angel investors.
The startup plans to use the funds to develop a vertically integrated supply chain, build in-house technology, improve its retail operations and expand its home-furnishing services.
wudhomes focuses on connecting different stages of the home-furnishing process, including product discovery, selection, personalisation, purchasing and delivery. The startup is developing a model that combines digital product discovery, personalised furniture recommendations, spatial visualisation, physical retail stores, home visits and supply chain operations.
Starting with furniture as its primary category, wudhomes plans to expand its services across other aspects of home furnishing.
The startup claims to have furnished more than 200 homes in recent months and has also opened a retail outlet on Sarjapur Road in Bengaluru and introduced a home-visit service through which consultants assess customers’ spaces and provide furnishing recommendations.
It plans to further develop its technology, distribution and operational infrastructure to support its home-furnishing business.
“We believe there is an opportunity to build a much larger business around home furnishing than traditional retail has allowed for. Today, customers have to navigate multiple platforms, stores and vendors to bring their homes together. At wudhomes, we’re building a model that brings together inspiration, design, technology, physical retail and an integrated supply chain into one connected journey, with the potential to change how the category works and how it scales,” said Vasu Arneja & Aditya Singh, Co-founders at wudhomes.
Aviral Bhatnagar of AJVC said, “wudhomes is approaching home furnishing as an end-to-end customer experience rather than just a product category. By bringing together digital discovery, curation and visualisation with physical retail and home visits, the team is addressing the gap between finding inspiration and actually creating a home. We believe this integrated model has the potential to build a differentiated business in a large, underserved market.”
