The Hong Kong government has appointed digital agencies Founder New Media and Mitopia to help promote “Brand Hong Kong” in mainland China and internationally. According to the government gazette published today (28 August), the Information Services Department (ISD) has approved two contracts, worth HK$7.56 million and HK$7.99 million respectively, to hire Founder New Media and Mitopia.
Founder New Media is required to undertake a digital media promotion, including planning, booking and advertisement coordination to promote “Brand Hong Kong” in the Chinese Mainland markets for a period of 12 months, commencing on 1 August 2026 and expiring on 31 July 2027.
Established in 2015, Founder New Media is a digital marketing agency that provides cross-border marketing services to support brand growth in China. Its clients include brands such as DBS Bank, Sun Hung Kai Properties, MGM Macau, Ngong Ping 360, Kee Wah Bakery, and Nestle Hong Kong. Currently, it has offices in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Shanxi.
Meanwhile, Mitopia is hired to undertake a digital media promotion, including planning, booking and advertisement coordination to promote Brand Hong Kong in the international markets for the same period. According to its official website, Mitopia is a full-service marketing agency that covers the entire marketing funnel, from creative and media to social and performance, as well as research and SEO. The agency also offers website development and social media services, including Chinese social media platforms. Its client roster includes Bank of China (Hong Kong), Invisalign, Guinness, JOYCE and CLP Power.

The appointment follows the Hong Kong government’s opening of a tender for digital media agencies to support the international and mainland China promotion of Brand Hong Kong in April this year.
The move follows a similar cycle in 2026, when the government awarded approximately HK$16 million to local agencies Migather and Tango Digitalfor Brand Hong Kong promotion in mainland China and overseas, following a pitch in March last year. According to the government gazette published on 25 July 2025, the ISD approved contracts of HK$8.02 million and HK$7.65 million for Tango and Migather, respectively.
