The City of Green Bay announced its participation as a founding city in “America the Entrepreneurial” at a press conference at the future site of Kindred Scoops and Kindred Kitchen in downtown Green Bay this week, highlighting local entrepreneur Melanie Bradshaw-Motiff and Mayor Eric Genrich officially proclaiming “Green Bay the Entrepreneurial.”
“America the Entrepreneurial” calls for a revival of the spirit that built our nation: a promise that anyone should be able to shape a better future for themselves and their community.Reviving this spirit is crucial: new and young businesses create virtually all net job growth in America, and every 1% increase in entrepreneurial activity in a state correlates with a 2% decline in poverty.
“Our small businesses are the backbone of our local economy, adding local flavor and vibrancy to our downtown and to commercial corridors throughout the City,” said Mayor Eric Genrich. “We’re proud to support them by building a City government that’s accessible to all and tailored to meet the needs of all residents, including those who aspire to open businesses to serve our community.”
“America the Entrepreneurial” is conceived and orchestrated by Right to Start, the national nonprofit organization advancing entrepreneurship as a civic priority. The campaign has already engaged a National Advisory Council of leading champions of entrepreneurship. Over the coming months, the campaign will continue expanding to engage individuals, organizations, and government leaders nationwide.
“Making it easier to found and grow startups and small businesses is crucial to the American economy and the American Dream,” said Kim Lane, Executive Director of “America the Entrepreneurial” and Chief Operating Officer of Right to Start. “The beauty of entrepreneurship is that it benefits everyone, and every community can gain from having more new businesses and elevated economic vitality.”
