ColibriTD, a French quantum software company focused on multiphysics simulation, has raised €4 million in Seed funding led by Earlybird Venture Capital, with participation from SymbiaVC and Medin VC. The financing follows a €1 million Pre-Seed investment from Earlybird.
The company plans to use the funding for research and development of H-DES, its Hybrid Differential Equation Solver, while hiring quantum researchers and domain-expert engineers. ColibriTD also plans to expand its hardware, academic and industrial partnerships and support international growth.
Founded in Paris in 2019 by Laurent Guiraud and Hacène Goudjil, ColibriTD develops a hardware-agnostic quantum-powered simulation platform. H-DES is a proprietary variational quantum algorithm designed to solve partial differential equations, which are used in applications spanning fluid dynamics, material deformation and financial risk modeling.
ColibriTD has completed seven co-construction projects across six sectors, including defense and aerospace, space and climate science, semiconductor design, nuclear energy, automotive engineering and quantitative finance. Its platform is compatible with quantum hardware and services from providers including IBM, AWS Braket, IQM, IonQ and Quobly.
The company has a team of approximately 20 employees, including roughly 12 PhDs. ColibriTD’s QUICK-PDE Qiskit Function is also available through the Qiskit Function Catalog for IBM Quantum Premium and Flex Plan users.
