Cognida has acquired Automate, an enterprise AI platform for accounting and operational workflows, from Within, formerly known as Klarity. Automate applies AI to complex workflows across quote-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes.
Its capabilities include ASC 606 revenue accounting, contract review, deal-desk operations, order management, invoice and expense processing, purchase-order matching and compliance.
The platform applies accounting policies, enterprise rules and internal controls to business data, routes exceptions and approvals and integrates with ERP and CRM systems.
Automate has processed millions of business documents through production environments used by large public companies, private equity-backed businesses and high-growth technology companies.
The deal provides Cognida with an established software platform, accounting and operations expertise, enterprise customer relationships and additional proprietary technology.
Automate will continue operating as a distinct product within Cognida.
The entire Automate team is joining Cognida, with Nick Tiscornia continuing as general manager and Rama Pagadala remaining senior vice president of engineering.
Cognida had worked directly with Automate for three years before the acquisition, giving the company familiarity with the technology, customers and implementation environment.
The acquisition advances Cognida’s services-plus-software strategy, under which enterprise consulting and implementation work can inform reusable software products.
Meanwhile, it will focus more closely on its Company Brain platform for capturing organizational knowledge and coordinating work between employees and AI agents.
“Most enterprises today have AI pilots, not AI operations. The gap between the two is not model capability. It is context, controls, and accountability.”
“Automate gives us a proven foundation inside accounting and operational workflows where outcomes must be accurate, controlled, and auditable.”
Feroze Mohammed, Founder And CEO Of Cognida
“Our customers depend on Automate for work that has to be right the first time. That doesn’t change, and neither does the team behind it. What does change is the scale of what we can build.”
Nick Tiscornia, General Manager Of Automate
