Key Elements
Australia-based design platform Canva is significantly strengthening its document, data analysis, and presentation capabilities as it positions itself as an alternative to Microsoft and Google. The company has added more than 100 features to its Visual Suite this year alone, and monthly presentation users have surpassed 100 million.
Canva announced on the 4th (local time) that it has rolled out more than 100 updates across its entire Visual Suite since the start of the year, spanning Docs, Presentations, Sheets, Whiteboards, and Video. That equates to a new feature roughly every two days.
The core focus of this update is connecting multiple stages of a project within a single workspace. Teams can now organize ideas on Whiteboards, draft proposals in Docs, analyze data in Sheets, and immediately create presentation materials—all without switching between separate programs. Canva reported that more than 250 million multi-format designs have been created since the introduction of new formats last year.
AI-Powered Data Analysis and Document Features
Sheets received more than a dozen updates, headlined by an AI feature that analyzes data and automatically converts it into charts and tables. Formatting controls such as public filters, column hiding, and row grouping have also been added. Docs now features full-page layouts, automatic page breaks, and expanded style options.
Whiteboards gained a “Follow Collaborators” feature that instantly jumps to where teammates are working, along with mobile paste functionality and one-click reactions. Content created on Whiteboards can also be converted into documents or presentations with a single click.
Presentation tools now include a timer that displays estimated speaking time, allowing presenters to monitor their pace and time allocation in real time. An AI feature that automatically generates speaker notes based on completed presentation materials has also been introduced.
Usage Scale and Enterprise Adoption
Canva’s growth is reflected in the numbers. Monthly presentation users have surpassed 100 million, placing it among the top three most-used presentation tools globally. Docs usage has more than tripled over the past three years. Approximately 1,000 documents and 3,000 presentations are created on the platform every minute, with total monthly design production exceeding 1 billion.
Adoption in the enterprise market is also accelerating rapidly. More than 98% of Fortune 500 companies use Canva in their operations, and enterprise adoption rates have more than doubled year over year. Roughly 5,000 social media posts are created on Canva every minute.
Website tools have also expanded. Approximately 1 million websites are built on Canva each month, and more than 6 million coded sites have been generated through Canva Code, which enables website creation without coding. Newly added features include navigation supporting up to 20 sections, SEO tools, domain controls, and expandable buttons.
Mobile-based creation is also growing. Six out of ten Visual Suite users worldwide begin their work on mobile devices. India, in particular, has recorded mobile usage exceeding 70%—the highest level in South Asia. Website tools have shown the fastest mobile adoption rate among all product categories.
Cameron Adams, Canva co-founder and Chief Product Officer, said, “When we launched the Visual Suite, we were planting seeds for a very different way of working, and several years later those seeds have grown into a vast forest.” He added, “I’m proud that Canva has become one of the most widely used productivity suites in the world as people move more of their everyday work onto the platform.” Adams noted, “We’ve shipped our 100th new feature this year alone—that’s a Visual Suite upgrade roughly every two days,” adding, “We still feel like we’re only 1% of the way there, and we’re just getting started.”
The new Visual Suite features are available worldwide. Canva is accelerating its transformation from a design creation tool into a comprehensive productivity platform spanning document writing, data analysis, and presentation creation.
