“The opportunities are immense, but the gap between businesses that innovate and those that are slow to innovate will also widen,” shared Dr. Tran Hau Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the National Committee for Standards, Metrology and Quality, at the 4th thematic workshop on “Innovation: A driving force for sustainable productivity growth for businesses,” held on the morning of August 14, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh City.
The workshop is part of the National Productivity and Quality Forum 2026 with the theme: “Breaking through productivity based on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation to help Vietnam move quickly towards the 2045 vision,” organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in coordination with the Central Policy and Strategy Board and the Asian Productivity Organization (APO).
According to Tran Hau Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the National Standards and Quality Measurement Committee, traditional advantages based on cheap labor and resource exploitation are gradually declining, forcing businesses to innovate in terms of mindset, technology, processes, products, and business models.
