Bengaluru-based deeptech startup DheyaTech has raised Rs 43 crore in a funding round led by Avaana Capital, with participation from existing investor Unimech Aerospace and Manufacturing.
The startup said it will use the fresh capital to scale production, establish a fully integrated testing facility for its gas turbine engines and work with domestic and global customers to accelerate deployment.
Founded in 2018 by Gurushankara K C, Abhinav Alva and Chetan Kumar, DheyaTech develops small gas turbine engines and energy systems for aerospace and power generation applications.

Scaling gas turbine engine development
DheyaTech’s engine portfolio spans thrust levels from 20 kgf to 400 kgf, targeting applications across advanced aerial mobility and energy systems.
Its gas turbines are moving towards commercial deployment, with flight trials targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026. The startup has also received confirmed orders from Indian and global original equipment manufacturers.
DheyaTech follows a platform-based approach designed to create a scalable family of engines across multiple thrust requirements and applications. Its in-house engineering team handles the development process from design to building and testing.
It has also developed an adaptive Engine Control Unit, or ECU, for its engine systems.
DheyaTech is pursuing airworthiness certification for its gas turbine engines through the Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification, or CEMILAC, part of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). CEMILAC is responsible for the airworthiness certification of military aircraft, engines and other airborne systems in India.
Gurushankara K C, CEO and co-founder of DheyaTech, said the funding will support the company’s move towards production readiness.
“We have spent the last decade building deep expertise in gas turbine technology with the vision of creating world-class propulsion and energy solutions from India. This funding marks an important step in our journey from technology development to production readiness. We are focused on building a scalable family of engines, strengthening our testing capabilities and working closely with customers to take our technology into real-world applications. Our long-term goal is to make India more self-reliant in critical propulsion and energy technologies,” he said.
Expanding into hydrogen-based energy systems
DheyaTech is also working on fuel-flexible and hydrogen-based propulsion and power generation technologies.
Its DET 60 hydrogen flex-fuel micro turbogenerator has a maximum power output of 60 kW, according to the startup’s product specifications.
DheyaTech has also developed a hydrogen anode blower for fuel-cell applications. A high-speed induction motor integrated with the blower has received EU ATEX certification for use in Zone 2 hazardous environments.
The startup has also developed a hydrogen-based flexi-fuel combustor in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru for its 60 kW flexi-fuel turbogenerator.

DheyaTech’s funding comes as other Indian companies step up work on gas turbine and propulsion technologies for aerospace and power applications.
For DheyaTech, the latest funding marks a move from technology development towards wider production, testing and commercial deployment as it seeks customers in India and overseas.
