San Francisco-based voice AI startup Wispr Flow has raised $280 million in a Series B funding round led by Menlo Ventures, with participation from existing investors including Notable Capital, NEA, Neo Ventures and 8VC.
New investors include Acrew, Forerunner, Goodwater and Peak XV. The round valued the company at $2 billion.
The fresh funding takes Wispr Flow’s total capital raised to $361 million. The company had raised $25 million at a $700 million valuation less than a year ago, making the latest round a near threefold increase in valuation.
The new capital will be used to expand its product and speech AI capabilities. The company has also introduced Canto, its proprietary speech recognition model, which is designed to improve accuracy in difficult environments.
Founded by Tanay Kothari, Wispr Flow develops AI-powered speech-to-text software that allows users to write and perform workplace tasks using voice. The company said its platform is used by more than 10,000 businesses.
Recently, Kothari said that India is thesecond-largest marketfor Wispr Flow in terms of both users and paying subscribers.
The company is also expanding beyond voice dictation into areas such as meeting notes and other workplace applications. Peak XV’s participation marks its entry as a new investor in the company.
