Nearly one month after a cyber attack disrupted county technology systems, Washburn County officials say recovery efforts are continuing, with phones and emails working again while some employees, printers and programs remain affected, according to a press release from Washburn County today
PRESS RELEASE
Update on Washburn County Cyber Incident
With the recent cyber attack against Washburn County having occurred just under a month ago, many folks are asking if there is an update. While this is still an on-going investigation, what we can share is that every department is fully functional and up and running with phones and emails working again. That doesn’t mean every person, printer or program is there yet but we’re working on all priorities as much as possible.
The board is fully supportive of our IT team and their dedication to all they are doing to get the county services “back to normal” for our employees and residents; we thank you all for your patience.
Eventually we will have more information we can share, but we’re not there yet.
While we continue to monitor, we are also focusing on prevention – we are dedicated to doing our best not only with this situation but in the future as well.
