On Thursday, the City of Victoria hosted the Small Business Resource Fair in collaboration with the Texas A&M University-Victoria Small Business Development Center and the Victoria Chamber of Commerce. The event allowed attendees to connect with businesses and organizations that provide different services to owners and entrepreneurs.
At the come-and-go event, 41 different organizations were present, offering a variety of services to attendees, including financial services, human resources, cybersecurity and networking.
At 3 p.m., attendees heard a panel discussion moderated by Mayor Duane Crocker featuring Small Business Development Center Director Lindsay Young, Victoria Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jeff Lyon, and small business owners Casey Housworth (Rapid Printing, Budget Blinds, The UPS Store) and Erica Briggs (ParaVida Wellness, Vida Café & Market).
Panelists discussed the challenges of owning a small business, lessons learned and practical advice for small business owners.
