Mich. (WLUC) – Thursday’s episode of Upper Michigan Today met a new generation of U.P. entrepreneurs
Dr. Corinne Bodeman’s “Intro to Entrepreneurship” class at NMU challenges students to create their own real-life businesses. John Redfield and Audrey Stetson invited all six of this semester’s groups to join them in the UMT studio and show the U.P. what they’ve got.
All profits made by these student businesses support each group’s nonprofit organization of choice. So, meet NMU’s Fall 2026 entrepreneurs below!
First, Jan Van Den Ende and Oscar Markovich introduced UMT to Superior Worn, a shop selling beach glass jewelry.
Willy’s Waffles sells late night food to students on campus. Joshua Flint gave John and Audrey his business elevator pitch.
Plus, Fidget University’s Logan O’Sullivan and Owen Ruonavaara shared their fidget toys on camera.
Attendees Chase Squeo and Miles Studinski explained the concept behind another potential late night dining option: Sneaky Lynx.
Next, the Junk Monkeys business got the spotlight. This group of young men takes junk off of people’s hands and disposes of it appropriately.
Finally, The Gifted Box helps patrons let their loved ones feel celebrated from afar. Learn all about the business from Sophia Thomas and Laylah Heron below!
