The funding will support product development and expansion as UAE businesses prepare for upcoming e-invoicing requirements.
UAE-based tax software company Tax Star has raised $1.75 million in seed funding as businesses prepare for the country’s upcoming mandatory e-invoicing rollout. The round was backed primarily by angel investors.
Tax Star, which describes itself as the UAE’s first AI-powered corporate tax software platform, is also a pre-approved Accredited Service Provider for the country’s e-invoicing system. The new funding will be directed towards product development, go-to-market expansion and tools intended to simplify compliance for businesses.
Businesses in the UAE generating annual revenue of AED 50 million or more must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by October 30th, 2026, ahead of the first mandatory implementation phase in January 2027. Tax Star’s pre-approved status allows it to act as a bridge between companies and the UAE’s Electronic Invoicing System.
The company currently integrates with accounting platforms including Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho, Odoo and Naqood. It is also part of Microsoft for Startups and has participated in Plug and Play and Dubai Founders HQ programmes.
Beyond the UAE rollout, Tax Star plans to expand across the GCC and into Europe, targeting markets undergoing similar shifts towards digital tax and invoicing systems.
