Travelers happier with airports
Airport satisfaction jumped “significantly” this year, according to the J.D. Power’s annual North America Airport Satisfaction study, and the higher ratings from travelers was due partly to new gates and terminals.
“Overall, travelers are happier with what they are seeing in most airports,” Mike Taylor, managing director of travel, hospitality and retail at J.D. Power, told CNBC news.
In the past several years, airports have been busy revamping facilities as well as building new airport gates and terminals. Among airports handling more than 33 million passengers annually, Minneapolis-Saint Paul International landed with the top score.
For airports serving 10 million and 32.9 million flyers each year, Tampa International ranked No. 1, while Charleston International in South Carolina was rated the best among medium airports.
