Hello Wolfpack Families! The semester is really kicking into high gear with <a href="https://bitcomme.com/chatgpt-is-giving-voters-ludicrous-misinformation-right-as-the-midterms-hit-2/” title=”ChatGPT Is Giving Voters Ludicrous Misinformation Right as the Midterms Hit”>midterms ending and students starting to prepare for finals season! As a student myself, I know how crucial time management is during this time and would love to give you tips for your student to have a successful rest of the semester.
As finals are quickly approaching, it is important that students start reviewing now rather than later, or if they have final projects, they should start outlining their ideas. If a student is struggling in a class or is nervous about studying for a final, we have a great academic success center at NC State! You can get one-on-one tutoring sessions, and we even have a writing center that helps students with any kind of writing projects, like final papers! It can also be hard to just sit down and study, so I suggest managing study times by planning out designated blocks of time during the week to study. Things like finding a study group or a good study spot on campus can also make studying a lot more motivating!
As important as it is for students to manage time studying, it’s also important to manage time for themselves. College can be stressful, and constantly studying isn’t managing your time well! Find time for breaks during your study times. I like to use a Pomodoro timer, which has you study in twenty-five-minute increments with five-minute breaks in between. It’s also important to schedule time for yourself, whether that be relaxing in your dorm or going out with friends! Exercise is also a great way to relieve stress and NC State offers free fitness classes at Carmichael Gym for students! Many college students struggle with mental health, especially during finals season. If you are or know someone who is experiencing struggles with mental health, there are so many resources available at NC State’s counseling center.
Time management is always a great way to keep yourself balanced and manage stress. Remember, there is more to college than just classes! Things like exercise and getting a full night’s worth of sleep are really important to a balanced lifestyle and managing stress. Support from family and friends during this time is also a great way to boost student morale! Good luck to all students as we get through this final stretch! As always, Go Pack!
