SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah (KUTV) —Three people were arrested facing terrorism and robbery charges after investigators tied them to a bank robbery in South Salt Lake.
Officers with the South Salt Lake Police Department responded to reports of a robbery near 3500 S State Street on Sept. 4. The bank teller told officers he had been threatened with a bomb and feared for his life, according to court documents.
The victim reported that a man entered the bank and handed him a note claiming to have a bomb and demanding he place money in a bag. The bank teller said he feared for his life, as the bomb looked real.
The victim then placed $1,234 into the bag and the suspect fled, jumping into the passenger seat of an SUV, according to court documents.

Police began an investigation, identifying and locating the alleged getaway driver first.
They tracked the car to an apartment where Brelyn Capri Sanchez, 37, lived, and compared her to photos of the driver.
She was booked in the Salt Lake County Jail on Wednesday after allegedly admitting to being the driver of the getaway car.
Police said there were two vehicles involved in the robbery, and both were registered to Thomas Domingo Bustos, 31.
Investigators learned that Bustos was “the person who setup the plan and coordinated everyone else,” according to court documents. The stolen money was also allegedly given to Bustos before they fled the area.
“Thomas Bustos shows a clear distain for public safety by organizing and participating in a aggravated robbery that used a possible incendiary explosive device,” officers wrote.
He was booked in jail on Thursday.
The latest arrest took place Friday, after police located the man accused of entering the bank and threatening the teller. Police said they identified Fidel Ybarra, 52, through interviews and warrants.
During an interview with police, Ybarra allegedly admitted to entering the bank and handing the teller a note.
“Ybarra gave information to your affiant that only someone who was at the scene of the crime, or associated to the crime, would have known,” police said.
Ybarra also told police that the bomb was fake, according to court documents.
All three suspects are facing first-degree aggravated robbery and second-degree terrorism charges.
It is unclear at this time if police are looking for any additional suspects.
