TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 will connect investors with early-stage startups
Thursday, 20 August 2026, 20:57
Behind the crowded stages and high-profile speakers, investors will find carefully selected teams competing for attention, capital, and their next major opportunity.
TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 will take place in San Francisco on October 13–15. The event at Moscone West will bring together startup founders, investors, and operators, with a central focus on building sustainable companies amid the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence.
For investors, the conference can provide an opportunity to meet teams early, assess emerging market directions, and build professional connections. Over three days, organizers plan to host more than 20,000 facilitated meetings, including investor receptions and structured networking sessions.
Who Can Benefit from TechCrunch Disrupt 2026
Angel investors, scouts, and pre-seed participants will be able to discover early-stage projects through pitches from Startup Battlefield 200 semifinalists, the Builders Stage, and the Expo Hall exhibition area. These formats focus on companies at early stages of development that have not yet established a market valuation.
Seed-stage and Series A funds will have access to a founder list, one-on-one meetings, and the Deal Flow Café. This space is designed for brief, focused conversations between startups seeking funding and potential investors.
For growth funds and late-stage investors, Disrupt 2026 offers an opportunity to track changes in the technology market and discuss strategic partnerships. The program for this audience includes the Smart Money Stage, Smart Systems Stage, and the private StrictlyVC investor session.
Startup Battlefield 200: A Selection of Early-Stage Startups
One of the conference’s key areas will be Startup Battlefield 200. The program will select 200 startups at the pre-Series A stage. Teams will undergo an initial review by the TechCrunch editorial team and the Startup Battlefield team before presenting their products to venture investors.
Competition participants will also compete for $100,000 in equity-free funding. According to TechCrunch, Startup Battlefield alumni have collectively raised more than $32 billion in <a href="https://bitcomme.com/south-korea-plans-chip-windfall-fund-to-back-youth-ai-investment/” title=”South Korea plans chip windfall fund to back youth, AI investment”>investment and completed over 250 exits.
Thousands of companies apply to participate in the program each year, but only 200 make the final list. For investors, this means access to pre-selected teams that may become potential investment opportunities.
What the Investor Pass Includes
The Investor Pass provides access to the Deal Flow Café and a complete list of founders open to speaking with funds and private investors. This format makes it possible to identify in advance which companies are worth meeting with during the event.
The Disrupt app allows users to book one-on-one and group meetings. Artificial intelligence tools will recommend relevant contacts based on investment interests, sectors, and shared topics, helping participants build a meeting schedule before the conference begins.
