Merck: Gaurav Gupta, EVP and Chief Information and Digital Officer
Merck has named Gaurav Gupta Executive Vice President and Chief Information and Digital Officer, effective September 1. Gupta joins Merck after more than 27 years at Ernst & Young, where he most recently served as a Senior Partner in the Life Sciences Digital practice. In his new role, he will lead Merck’s information and digital organization and advance the company’s priorities across AI, data, and technology.
ChristianaCare: Drew Smith, Chief Data & AI Officer
ChristianaCare has named Drew Smith Chief Data & AI Officer. Smith joins the healthcare organization from OhioHealth, where he served as Chief Data and Analytics Officer and focused on delivering scalable analytics products and AI capabilities. His background also includes data and analytics leadership roles at Little Caesars Pizza, the International Institute for Analytics, and IKEA.
Monte Carlo: Nik Acheson, Chief AI Officer
Monte Carlo has appointed Nik Acheson Chief AI Officer. Acheson joins the agent trust platform from Highmark Health, where he led enterprise-wide data and AI strategy, architecture, and engineering. In his new role, he will help advance Monte Carlo’s AI strategy as the company expands its agent trust capabilities for enterprises adopting autonomous AI agents.
Target: Chandhu Nair, Chief AI Officer
Target has tapped Chandhu Nair as its first Chief AI Officer and Senior Vice President. Nair joins the retailer from Lowe’s, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President – Stores, Data, AI & Innovation and led its AI transformation office, data and analytics practice, AI products and platforms team, and Innovation Labs. At Target, he will bring greater focus and coordination to AI as the company advances its priorities across merchandising, guest experience, technology, and its team and communities.
