OpenAI first launched its free ChatGPT for Teachers program in 2025. Today the company announced a vast expansion of the program, covering 55 additional school systems across 20 states.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —OpenAI has formed a partnership with the Kern High School District and is bringing ‘ChatGPT for Teachers,’ as part of an expansion that includes 30 new school systems.

North Carolina educators are trying to navigate one of the most complex technological quandaries facing students in years: How to teach the value and ethical use of artificial intelligence without students becoming so reliant that they don’t learn how to reason for themselves. 

A middle school in Springfield is set to become the first Massachusetts public school to pilot an artificial intelligence-powered education model. The teachers’ union is trying to put a stop to the program.

Instead, Indian River County teachers are using the technology to enhance learning and better meet the needs of their students.
